The National Trust for Places of Historic Interest has applied to the Environment Agency for 2 licences.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application (in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.
The application is for a full licence to abstract (take) water from Hause Gill at National Grid Reference (NGR) NY 23461 13768.
The application is to abstract water as follows:
- 24 cubic metres an hour
- 8380.8 cubic metres a day
- 1,843,776 cubic metres a year
- All year
The water will be used for a hydro electric power production scheme.
The National Trust for Places of Historic Interest has also applied to the Environment Agency for a licence to obstruct or impede the flow of Hause Gill at NGR NY 23461 13768. The object of impounding water by means of the works is to install a screened intake weir to facilitate the abstraction.
