The Longwater (Gravel) Company Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.
The application is for a full licence to abstract water from the Broadland Rivers Chalk and Crag aquifer at National Grid Reference TF 95178 18270.
The application is to abstract water as follows:
- 10 cubic metres an hour
- 100 cubic metres a day
- 25,000 cubic metres a year
- All year.
The water will be used for the purpose of mineral washing at Beetley Quarry.
Further details are: The point of abstraction is located next to the Norfolk Rivers Internal Drainage Board system. The proposed abstraction lies within the Broadland Rivers Eau Abstraction Licencing Strategy.
