The Land Trust has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application (in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006).
The application is for a licence to abstract water from the River Thames at Southern Ashfield, land off Oliver Road, West Thurrock, National Grid Reference TQ 58784 76339 to transfer it to a pond(s) at Southern Ashfield, West Thurrock, NGR TQ 58753 76390, without intervening use.
The application is to abstract water as follows:
- 756 cubic metres an hour
- 3,625 cubic metres a day
- 661,600 cubic metres a year
Between 1 September and 31 March inclusive in each year.
Further details are: The proposed abstraction is for the purpose of wetland habitat creation to support wildlife.
