The Hop Plant Company Ltd has applied to the Environment Agency for two licences.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of these applications in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.
The application is for a full licence to abstract (take) water from a reservoir at National Grid Reference (NGR) TM 10289 49228.
The application is to abstract water as follows:

10 cubic metres an hour

240 cubic metres a day

15,000 cubic metres a year

between 1 April and 31 October inclusive in each year.
The water will be used for trickle irrigation storage.
The Hop Plant Company Ltd has also applied to the Environment Agency for a licence to obstruct or impede the flow of unnamed watercourse at Little Blakenham, Suffolk at NGR TM 10310 49220.
By building a weir water will be impounded to a reservoir.
The capacity of the reservoir at overflow level will be 30.3 metres.
