In 2011 the government asked Darren Henley to carry out a review of cultural education in order to realise the ambition for every child to have the chance to experience a wide variety of high quality cultural experiences. This document sets out the government’s immediate responses to the recommendations made in the review.

The Department for Education is committing £15 million until 2015 to support initiatives that will inspire children and young people and schools to take part in cultural activities to enrich their learning and play their part in helping the cultural arts industries to continue to flourish.
