Details of the application

The East Suffolk Internal Drainage Board has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application (in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006).

The application is for a full licence to abstract water from the Kings Fleet at National Grid Reference TM 32047 38395.

The application is to abstract water as follows:

  • 323 cubic metres a hour

  • 7,740 cubic metres a day

  • 1,000,000 cubic metres a year

All year.

The water will be used for storage in on-farm reservoirs for subsequent spray irrigation as part of the Felixstowe Peninsula Project.
