The Crown Estate has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 8 of The Water Abstraction (Transitional Provisions) Regulations 2017.
The Environment Agency has received the following abstraction licence application within the Thames Corridor catchment.
The application is for a full licence to abstract water as follows:
- at an instantaneous rate of 13.9 litres per second
- 50 cubic metres an hour
- 1,200 cubic metres a day
- 258,000 cubic metres a year
- between 1 April and 31 March inclusive in each year
- at National Grid Reference (NGR) SU 97494 70549
- from abstraction location Obelisk Pond.
The water will be used for Spray Irrigation - Direct.
