Details of the application

Thatchers Cider Company Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is to vary licence number SW/052/0014/007 which authorises the abstraction of water from Underground strata comprising of Mercia Mudstone at National Grid Reference ST 41920 59896, Myrtle Farm, Sandford, Winscombe, Avon.

The variation applied for is to increase the Daily abstraction volume from 150 Cubic metres to 448 cubic metres.

Further details are: The seasonal nature of the operations that the abstraction is for means that they are limited to the period between 1 July to 31 October.
