As a matter of public interest, can the SIA confirm if the attached letter is true. If it is true, can the criteria and decision making process, review, and appeal procedures for this dispensation be made public please.
The letter contains the following statement:
The SIA have recently confirmed that a dispensation has been granted for our CPOs not to display their licences out in public.
2. Response
I can confirm that the SIA does hold this information.
We can confirm that the Security Industry Authority has not granted a licence display dispensation to security operatives working on the TFL contract to protect people and property in relation to the Ultra Low Emission Zone.
Contact has been made with Transport for London to explain our position and clarify the situation with them.
