This guidance explains how to determine the ‘principal use’ of premises, in accordance with the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) (Principal Use of Premises) Regulations 2026.

This determination must be made where individual premises are used for 2 or more specified uses listed in Schedule 1 to the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025, for the purposes of identifying the responsible person.
