Undertakings released

4 November 2026: The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) published the final decision in its review of the undertakings. The undertakings have now been released (are no longer in force) and have been removed from the register of remedies in force.

Undertakings description

These undertakings were given under the monopoly provisions of the Fair Trading Act 1973. They required that the BBC, in the course of supplying television services in the UK, doesn’t promote its own magazines on BBC1 and BBC2. Exceptions to this were outlined in the undertakings.
