Forms R85 and helpsheet

Following comments received, HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) have reintroduced the tick boxes on the form R85 to show the capacity of a person making the declaration on behalf of the saver. There’s no requirement to include tick boxes and institutions producing own versions can choose to include tick boxes or continue using bullets.

HMRC would like to thank those who have made comments and suggestions.

The HMRC R85 Calculator is being rebuilt to cater for the reduction in the starting rate of tax on savings from 10% to 0% from 6 April 2015 and we will issue a further bulletin when it’s available.
