This annual research aimed to provide evidence for the effectiveness of the 2021 tax credits advertising campaign, which targeted tax credit customers.

It evaluated awareness of the campaign and comprehension of key messages, to help ensure that HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) advertising is effective, resonates well with the target audience and is as efficient as it can be.

The research was conducted with 1,401 tax credit claimants, half before the campaign, and half after.
