Details of the application

Tarmac Trading Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is for a licence to abstract groundwater (via superficial deposits) from the area between National Grid References SK 81900 63530, SK 82190 63920, SK 82660 62690 and SK 82310 62790, to transfer it to the Mons Pool at National Grid Reference (NGR) SK 81770 63520, and to the River Fleet at NGR SK 82411 63202, without intervening use.

The application is to abstract water as follows:

  • 234 cubic metres an hour
  • 5,600 cubic metres a day
  • 2,044,000 cubic metres a year
  • between 01 April and 31 March inclusive in each year.

The application is for a licence to cover the eastern extension to Besthorpe Quarry, for the purpose of dewatering.
