Tarmac Trading Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.
The application is for a full licence to abstract water from Leapers Wood Quarry (Limestone Secondary A) at Leapers Wood Quarry, Kellet Road, Carnforth, Lancashire, LA6 1HJ. National Grid References SD 50671 69961, SD 51897 69474, SD 51776 69051 and SD 50525 69636 define the area within which the site is contained.
The application is to abstract water as follows:
- 69 cubic metres an hour
- 826 cubic metres a day
- 288,095 cubic metres a year
- between 1 April and 31 March inclusive in each year.
The water will be used for Dust Suppression, Industrial Sprinkler System and Wheel Wash.
