Details of the application

Tarmac Trading Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is for a licence to abstract water from Carboniferous Limtestone at Whitehole Farm to transfer it to Whitehole Spring at National Grid Reference ST 68021 48061 without intervening use.

The application is to abstract water as follows:

  • 9.4 cubic metres an hour
  • 225 cubic metres a day
  • 82,125 cubic metres a year
  • between April and March inclusive in each year.

Further details are: Abstraction will be required to augment the flow in the Whitehole Spring as directed by the Environment Agency.
