Details of the application

Tarmac Trading Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 8 of The Water Abstraction (Transitional Provisions) Regulations 2017.

The Environment Agency has received the following abstraction licence application within the Tees catchment.

The application is for a licence to transfer water as follows:

  • at an instantaneous rate of 235 litres per second
  • 956 cubic metres an hour
  • 9,853 cubic metres a day
  • 1,970,412 cubic metres a year
  • between 1 April and 31 March inclusive in each year
  • at National Grid References (NGR) Area A between NZ 30484 32327, NZ 30612 32305, NZ 30543 32126, NZ 30428 32151, Area B between NZ 31361 32963, NZ 31514 32943, NZ 31503 32764, NZ 31375 32763, Area C between NZ 30484 32327, NZ 30612 32305, NZ 30543 32126, NZ 30428 32151
  • from abstraction location Underground strata at Thrislington Quarry, Ferryhill, Co. Durham.

The water will be used for Transfer for the purpose of dewatering.
