Details of the application

Tarmac Trading Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 8 of The Water Abstraction (Transitional Provisions) Regulations 2017.

The Environment Agency has received the following abstraction licence application within the Tame, Anker and Mease catchment

The application is for a licence to transfer water as follows:

  • at an instantaneous rate of 250 litres per second
  • 900 cubic metres an hour
  • 20,010 cubic metres a day
  • 2,723,649 cubic metres a year
  • between 1 April and 31 March inclusive in each year
  • an area between National Grid References SK 18163 15585; SK 19136 15188; SK 18152 12103; and SK 17258 11579
  • from abstraction location Underground strata comprising sands and gravels at Alrewas Quarry, Alrewas, Lichfield.

The water will be used for transfer for the purpose of dewatering.
