Details of the application

Tarmac Trading Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 8 of The Water Abstraction (Transitional Provisions) Regulations 2017.

The Environment Agency has received the following abstraction licence application within the North Essex catchment.

The application is for a licence to transfer water as follows:

  • at an instantaneous rate of 91.6 litres per second
  • 330 cubic metres an hour
  • 7,920 cubic metres a day
  • 1,647,360 cubic metres a year
  • between 1 April and 31 March inclusive in each year
  • The area within the following National Grid References (NGR) TL 94914 22552, TL 95765 22339, TL 95938 23191 and TL 95067 23169
  • from abstraction location Colchester(Stanway) Quarry, Essex.

The water will be used for Transfer for the purpose of dewatering.
