Tailored reviews, are mandated reviews by the Cabinet office, that aim to challenge and provide assurance of the continuing need for an organisation in both its function and form, and consider how to improve its performance and governance arrangements.
The review found that ICAI:
- plays a valuable scrutiny role – improving ODA provision
- has a growing reputation for delivering independent, in-depth reviews
- has an appropriate remit and functions though they could be simplified
- could improve its efficiency and effectiveness including how it operates internally across the different parts
