T Wilson & Sons (Farmers) Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for 2 licences.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application (in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The applications are for 2 full licences to abstract water from Rainford Brook between National Grid References SD 47811 00148 and SJ 48478 99500 and from Railway Brook between National Grid References SD 47591 02066 and SD 47615 01902.

The applications are both to abstract water as follows:

  • 39.5 cubic metres an hour
  • 948 cubic metres a day
  • 40,000 cubic metres a year

Between 1 April and 30 September inclusive in each year.

The water will be used for spray irrigation.

The quantity listed above is the quantity that can be taken between the 2 licences. If granted the licences will be aggregated with an existing licence, so that the quantities listed above are the total quantities T Wilson & Sons Limited can abstract between 3 licences.
