T Level foundation year: national technical outcomes
The national technical outcomes (NTOs) set out what students are expected to be able to do by the end of their T Level foundation year.

Details
There are NTOs for each of the 12 T Level routes. NTOs should be delivered as part of the programme, as set out in the framework for delivery. The NTOs will provide the basis for the content of T Level foundation qualifications that will be available from 2026.
NTOs for T Level routes currently running:
- business and administration
- construction and the built environment
- digital
- education and early years
- engineering and manufacturing
- health and science
- legal, finance and accounting
NTOs for implementation from September 2023:
- agriculture, environmental and animal care
NTOs for implementation from September 2024:
- creative and design
- hair and beauty
NTOs for implementation after 2024:
- catering and hospitality
NTOs for implementation from September 2025:
- sales, marketing and procurement
The T Level transition programme is changing to T Level foundation year. You will need to reflect this from the academic year 2024 to 2025.
