During week 21, most syndromic indicators for respiratory infections generally remained stable and at or below seasonally expected levels. GP out-of-hours contacts for diarrhoea and vomiting increased slightly and remain above seasonally expected levels.

During week 21 NHS 111 triaged calls and online assessments for ‘heat exposure or sunburn’ decreased and are now at or below expected levels. Respiratory and gastrointestinal indicators were stable during the reporting week.

GP in-hours syndromic surveillance system

During week 21, the GP in-hours consultation rates for allergic rhinitis, ‘heat or sunstroke’ and insect bites decreased and are similar to levels expected for the time of year. Respiratory indicators in general remained stable and at or below seasonally expected levels.

During week 21, GP out-of-hours contacts for diarrhoea and vomiting increased slightly and remain above seasonally expected levels.

During week 21, ED attendances for acute alcohol intoxication increased over the weekend. Attendances for pneumonia remain slightly above baseline.
