The Department for Work and Pensions commissioned a quantitative survey of young people who were not in education, employment or training (NEET) at the time of the survey.

This research was designed to gather insight on the views of young people NEET on factors including their barriers to work, their future aims, and how they could be better supported into education, employment or training.

Research value and contribution to the evidence base

The findings from this research have been used to inform the Young people and work: interim report.

It will also inform the wider evidence base on young people not in education, employment or training (NEETs).
