Report on the fifth survey of employment tribunal applications (SETA) 2008. Provides information on the characteristics of claimants and employers, and their experiences, outcomes and attitudes relating to the Employment Tribunals system.
It also assesses the effect of the Dispute Resolution Regulations 2004, and explores the claimants’ and employers’ knowledge and evaluation of the role of Acas and its involvement.
Information for survey respondents
Between March and July 2013, TNS-BMRB will contact claimants and employers, inviting them to take part in the Survey of Employment Tribunal Applications 2013. This is an official, government-sponsored survey. It is important that you take part because your experiences and situation may be distinctive. Without your information the survey findings will not give a complete and accurate picture of the Employment Tribunals system.
The information you provide will be treated in strict confidence. It will be used for a report that will not identify any individual or business. The report will inform employment relations decisions and policy development. It will also help public debate about the nature of dispute resolution in Britain.
About the survey
The Department for Business, Innovation and Skills, Acas, the Ministry of Justice and the HM Courts & Tribunals Service are collaborating to conduct this survey. The first survey in the series was carried out in 1987, with subsequent surveys in 1992, 1998, 2003 and 2008.
