The young people and work report is an independent review of the increase in the number of young people who are not in education, employment or training (NEET).

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) commissioned an online survey of education professionals to inform the Milburn Young People and Work report. This research was designed to explore teachers’ views on young people’s opportunities and barriers to accessing and engaging with education, employment and training, as well as the current focus of the school curriculum.
Research value and contribution to the evidence base
The findings from this research have been used to inform the Young people and work: interim report.
It will also inform the wider evidence base on young people not in education, employment or training (NEETs).
