From 1 August 2023, traineeships are no longer delivered through the national traineeships programme. Traineeships can continue to be offered by providers locally.

Traineeships: framework for delivery 2022 to 2023

Details

This framework for delivery applies to all current trainees who started on a traineeship programme before 31 July 2023.

From 1 August 2023 the framework will be replaced by information in the 16 to 19 study programmes guidance and the adult education budget (AEB) funding rules.

Traineeships are programmes of education and training that help young people get the skills and experience they need to get an apprenticeship or a job.

The 2022 to 2023 framework for delivery covers the period from 1 September 2022 to 31 July 2023.

The 2021 to 2022 framework for delivery covering the period from 1 September 2021 to 31 July 2022 is still available to view at the The National Archives.
