This letter was sent by the Secretary of State to Leaders of local authorities and fire authorites who were affected by the riots. It informs them of their eligibility under the terms of the recovery scheme and details the package of support available.

The letter, terms of the recovery scheme, guidance for local authorities on the high street support scheme and an example application form for local authorities to issue to impacted businesses can be downloaded below.

Please note: The ‘High Street Support Scheme - guidance for Local Authorities’ and ‘Recovery Scheme for businesses - application form’ were updated on 30 September 2011 to reflect the payment deadline extension from 7 November 2011 to 3 January 2012.
