Steel road wheels, originating in the People’s Republic of China (anti-dumping duty 2418)

The Commission announced in regulation 2020/1165, OJ ref. L258 changes to the reporting requirements (but not the anti-dumping duty) on imports of wheels of steel designed for use on the road, whether or not with their accessories and whether or not fitted with tyres, originating in the People’s Republic of China.

This regulation takes effect from 8 August 2020.

These goods are currently classified within Combined Nomenclature (CN) codes:

  • 8708 7010 80
  • 8708 7010 85
  • 8708 7099 20
  • 8708 7099 80
  • 8716 9090 95
  • 8716 9090 97

Changes to the reporting requirements:

  • the customs declaration will contain the supplementary units for the above commodity codes and these will be declared as ‘items’ (not pieces)
  • this requirement is irrespective of the origin of the goods and whether or not anti-dumping duty applies
  • the valid commercial invoice declaration, required for the individual anti-dumping duty rates, will certify the number of ‘items’ (not pieces)
  • customs authorities are required to report the number of items and the origin for all imports under the above commodity codes, in monthly statistics to the Commission
