Steel imports from Indonesia, China and Taiwan (anti-dumping duty 2446)

Published 23 November 2020

Amending the regulations imposing anti-dumping or countervailing duties on certain steel products which are also subject to safeguard measures.

In Regulation no 2019/1382, the Commission announced, that where the 25% safeguard duty becomes payable (because the quota is exhausted) on certain steel imports in chapters 72 and 73 of the Tariff, any anti-dumping or countervailing duty also in force on 4 September 2019 would be adjusted or suspended as appropriate.

Regulation 2020/1713, Official Journal ref. L384, published 17 November 2020, extends this duty adjustment mechanism to hot rolled stainless steel sheets and coils originating in Indonesia, the People’s Republic of China and Taiwan. This follows the imposition of anti-dumping duty on these products by regulation 2020/1408 on 8 October 2020.
