We have received a request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 for details of the 677 decisions relating to visitor visas that were made in November 2009 at the Visa Application Centre in Cairo.
We released the following information on 4 February 2010.
- What percentage was successful? - 90%
- What percentage were coming just for a holiday and of those how many were successful? - 49% applied to visit the UK for a holiday. Of those, 89% were successful.
- What percentage was visiting a friend or relative and of those how many were successful? - 13% applied to visit the UK to visit a friend/relative. Of those, 82% were successful
- From November 2008 to November 2009, how much money was made on visit visa applications and of those applications what percentage was successful in getting a visa? - £3.3m. The issue rate is 87%.
