Statements from the Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs regarding the Direct Payments to Farmers (Reductions and Simplifications) (England) (Amendment) Regulations 2021 (SI 2021/407) and the Official Controls (Exemptions from Controls at Border Control Posts) (Amendment) Regulations 2021 (SI 2021/453) amended instruments made under section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972.
Under paragraph 15 of Schedule 8 to the European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018, the Minister is required to make statements regarding:
- why there are good reasons for the amendment or revocation
- the law relevant to the amendment or revocation
- the effect of the amendment or revocation on retained EU law
These statements were not included explicitly in the original explanatory materials. They have therefore been made and published in accordance with paragraph 15.
