Details of the applications

Staples Vegetables Limited has applied to the Environment Agency to vary two abstraction licences.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of these applications (in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006).

Application reference NPS/WR/029812 is to vary licence serial number AN/030/0013/020 which authorises the abstraction of water from various drains in the West Fen Drainage system at Carrington, Westville, Antons Gowt, Frithville, East Lindsey, Lincolnshire.

The variation applied for is: to add a new abstraction reach on the Frith Bank Drain between National Grid References (NGRs) TF 30332 47366 and TF 32566 47150; and to increase the authorised annual quantity from 21,968 cubic metres per year to 44,000 cubic metres per year.

Application reference NPS/WR/029808 is to vary licence serial number 4/30/13/*S/0243 which authorises the abstraction of water from two reaches on the River Witham between NGRs TF 2585 4850 and TF 2625 4795 and between NGRs TF 2696 4757 and TF 2760 4755 within the River Witham.

The variation applied for is: to add a new abstraction reach between NGRs TF 28348 47444 and TF 30625 46559 and to add two new abstraction points at NGRs TF 31006 45992 and TF 31148 45881; and to increase the authorised annual quantity from 7,273 cubic metres per year to 22,276 cubic metres per year.
