Amending the regulations imposing anti-dumping or countervailing duties on certain steel products subject to safeguard measures.
The Commission announced in Regulation No 2019/1382, Official Journal ref. L227 dated 3 September 2019, that where the 25% safeguard duty becomes payable (because the quota is exhausted) on certain steel imports in chapters 72 and 73 of the Tariff, any anti-dumping or countervailing duty also in force will be adjusted or suspended as appropriate, with immediate effect.
Any anti-dumping duty or countervailing duty suspensions are limited to the period that the 25% safeguard must be paid, it does not apply when the quota is available.
The anti-dumping duty or countervailing duty regulations concerned and the adjusted rates are detailed in the annexes of Regulation No 2019/1382.
As a consequence of the exhaustion of quota 098871 and quota 098620, the countervailing duty on stainless steel bars and rods originating in India will be suspended from 1 April 2020 to 30 June 2020 as follows.
