STA assessment updates
Latest information and deadlines relating to primary school assessments, provided by the Standards and Testing Agency (STA).
STA sends ‘assessment update’ emails, typically every 2 weeks on a Tuesday during term time, to schools, local authorities and other subscribers. This includes users of the:
- National Curriculum Assessments Portal (NCA Portal)
- multiplication tables check service (MTC service)
- assessment services for the reception baseline assessment (RBA)
You can read previous assessment updates online or subscribe to receive future emails.
To ensure your spam filters or firewalls don’t block our emails, you may need to ask your IT team to allowlist Mailchimp IP addresses.

Removed references to the Primary Assessment Gateway, which has now closed. Also removed information about testing alternative mailing services in the academic year 2025 to 2026.
