Key stage 2
Publication: KS2 test results available
Your school’s 2018 key stage 2 (KS2) test results are available to view, download and print in the ‘Pupil results’ section of NCA tools. Local authorities will also be able to access these results.
For English grammar, punctuation and spelling, English reading and mathematics, each pupil receives:
- a raw score
- a scaled score
- confirmation of whether or not they met the expected standard
A Department for Education statistical first release, published today, provides provisional national headline results including those for English writing teacher assessment.
We’ve also provided a report template to show the percentage of pupils nationally who achieved the expected standard for each subject in 2018, based on the provisional headline information. Schools may choose to populate this template with their overall results to include in their reports to parents, but there is no requirement to use this format.
Publication: KS2 scaled score conversion tables
We’ve published guidance on scaled scores for the 2018 tests, including the raw score to scaled score conversion tables, on GOV.UK.
They are also available to download from NCA tools.
Publication: information for parents leaflet about KS2 results
We’ve published a leaflet for parents about the 2018 KS2 national curriculum assessment results. The leaflet details the information parents can expect to receive at the end of KS2, and how the results of the tests and teacher assessment judgements are used.
You may find this a useful resource to share with parents when reporting pupils’ results.
There is a print-friendly version of this leaflet for ease of sharing.
Reminder: marking reviews guidance
Schools must make any review applications in the ‘Pupil results’ section of NCA tools by 11:59pm on Friday 20 July.
Further information about applying for a review of pupils’ test results is available in our guidance.
Publication: multiplication tables check development update
The 2018 multiplication tables check trials have now concluded and we have updated the development process page on GOV.UK.
The updates include dates for the June 2019 national voluntary pilot and information about how you can get involved in user research.
Publication: future test dates for the 2019 to 2020 academic year
We’ve published the national curriculum test dates for the 2019 to 2020 academic year to help schools with your forward planning.
Reminder: complete communications survey by 13 July
There are only a few more days for you to provide feedback on our communications products and channels. Our annual communications survey closes on Friday 13 July.
It should only take a few minutes to complete and will help us to plan for the 2018 to 2019 academic year.
Reminder: guidance for writing statutory end of year reports
We’ve published guidance for schools about writing statutory end of year reports for parents at the end of key stage 1 (KS1) and KS2.
Reports must include comparative information about the attainment of pupils of the same age in your school and nationally.
