This standard rules permit allows you to operate a waste facility transferring and treating a range of non-hazardous wastes. These rules also allow storage of asbestos, batteries, cable and waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE).
You can apply for this standard rules permit if:
- your activity meets the rules set out in the permit
- you can manage the potential risks as set out in the generic risk assessment
Charges
The charges for applying for this standard rules permit are:
- £3,926 for a new standard rules permit application
- £1,178 for a minor variation to the permit
- £2,529 to transfer the permit
- £2,536 to surrender the permit
There is also an annual subsistence charge of £4,169 for the standard rules permit.

In Table 2.1 clarified that its whole end-of-life tyres. Condition 2.2.3 has been changed to apply the limits to the storage and treatment outdoors of wastes listed in table 2.3b. Technique 9 - Separately collected food. The requirement for disinfection has been removed the requirement for spillages of food waste to be cleaned up has been changed to “as soon as practicable and in any event within an hour of them occurring” rather than immediately. Technique 15 - a clarified that lithium-ion batteries which have been sorted must be marked as a fire hazard and stored accordingly. Table 2.3a - waste code 16 01 03 has been amended to whole end-of-life-tyres. Corrected an error in the charge for the minor variation and surrender.
