South East Water Limited : application made to abstract water

South East Water Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.
The application is for a full licence to abstract water from groundwater in Kent at National Grid Reference TQ 71 58. This licence does not represent new water, it is currently licensed under 9/40/02/0112/GR.
The application is to abstract water as follows in total between both boreholes:
- 339 cubic metres an hour
- 8,122 cubic metres a day
- 2,964,384 cubic metres a year
- At an instantaneous rate of 47 litres per second per borehole.
- Abstraction period all year.
The water will be used for public water supply.
