The Department is undertaking a range of actions including:

• commissioning the College of Social Work to develop a proposal for a continuing professional development framework
• consulting on a Knowledge and Skills Statement for Social Work with adults and a national consistent assessment at the end of the Assessed and Supported Year in Employment for social work with adults
• developing proposals with DfE on formal teaching partnerships between employers and higher education institutions (HEIs)
• progressing the ‘Think Ahead’ programme

The department will publish another update in a year.
