A scoping study to understand the main social and behavioural questions relating to automated vehicles (AVs) which involved:

  • a review of the literature relating to the social and behavioural aspects of AVs
  • exploration of the research being undertaken by the government-funded 4 cities driverless car trials
  • extensive engagement with experts to explore the full range of social and behavioural implications of AVs
