Singleton Birch Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.
The application is for a full licence to abstract water from groundwater (Chalk Group) at Melton Ross Quarries in Barnetby, North Lincolnshire, at National Grid Reference TA 08800 11575.
The application is to abstract water as follows:
- 35 cubic metres an hour
- 840 cubic metres a day
- 150,000 cubic metres a year
The quantities applied for will be transferred from an existing licence under a water rights trade agreement. The water will be used for the processing and manufacturing of specialist lime-based products.
