Details of the application

Sibelco UK Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is for a licence to abstract water from the Lower Greensand aquifer at Mercers West Lagoon at North Park Quarry, Godstone, Surrey at National Grid Reference (NGR) TQ 30364 52393 for the purpose of transferring it without intervening use to the Spynes Mere also located at North Park Quarry, Godstone, Surrey at NGR TQ 30499 52424.

The application is to abstract water as follows:

  • 97 cubic metres an hour
  • 2,328 cubic metres a day
  • 182,500 cubic metres a year
  • abstraction will take place all year.
