Sibelco UK Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 8 of The Water Abstraction (Transitional Provisions) Regulations 2017.
The Environment Agency has received the following abstraction licence application within the Exe catchment.
The application is for a licence to transfer water as follows:
- The application is for a licence to abstract (take) water from underground strata comprising sands and gravels at Kingsteignton quarries, South Devon in the area between National Grid References SX 85160 76500, SX 86600 75390, SX 86500 71770 and SX 84710 75170, to transfer it to the River Teign and Ugbrooke Stream at multiple locations adjacent to the quarry without intervening use.
- between 1 April and 31 March inclusive in each year.
The water will be used for dewatering.
