SIA licences required to run a private security company in the UK

Published 13 October 2021

1. Request

I’m currently making a business plan for a security company that specialises in the following tasks:

  • close protection
  • RST [residential security]
  • private investigations
  • event security

Therefore I’m doing some research into how to make this business possible. I need to find out what licences I need to legally be able to run my own company in this industry. I would really appreciate your guidance on this subject.

Thank you for your time and I look forward to hearing from you.
