I was wondering if you had any data similar to that released monthly in the SIA licence holders data set, but showing the number of male and female licence holders by region rather than a full total.

The SIA holds the information that you have requested. Please see attached a CSV file consisting of the total number of male and female licence holders by UK region.
We have used the ‘travel to work area’ to define UK region. A ‘travel to work area’ is a statistical tool used to indicate an area where the population would generally commute to a larger town, city, or conurbation for the purposes of employment.
The blank region indicating 54 females and 385 males refers to unknown UK postcodes and foreign addresses. Where there are less than 10 licence holders, the entry will reflect ‘<10’ in the CSV file.
