Sewells Reservoir Construction Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.
The application is for a licence to abstract water from Essex Gravels at Elmstead, Colchester between National Grid References TM 05747 25976, TM 06264 25942, TM 06224 25747, and TM 05667 25783 to transfer it to Essex Gravels at National Grid Reference (NGR) TM 06179 25872 or to the Bromley Brook at NGR TM 05947 25989 without intervening use.
The application is to abstract water as follows:
- 78.4 cubic metres an hour
- 1,882 cubic metres a day
- 685,048 cubic metres a year
The abstraction is for the purpose of dewatering.
