Details of the application

Severn Trent Water Ltd has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is for a full licence to abstract water from surface water at National Grid Reference SO 78 72.

The application is to abstract water as follows:

  • 140,000 cubic metres a day
  • 6,500,000 cubic metres a year

Between 1 October and 31 March inclusive in each year from 1 April 2019.

The water will be used for public water supply.

Additionally, water is to be abstracted between 1 October 2017 and 31 May 2018 and between 1 October 2018 and 30 April 2019 for commissioning purposes.
