1. Details of the application

Severn Trent Water Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is to vary licence serial number 03/28/36/0173/1/R01 which authorises the abstraction of water from surface water at National Grid Reference SK 44 30.

The variation applied for is a licence trade with donor licence number 03/28/005/0056 held by Rugeley Power Limited. There will be a full trade of 7,200,000 cubic metres per year (6,480,000 cubic metres now and then the remaining 720,000 cubic metres on 01 January 2025 following expiration of the donor licence on 31 December 2024).

The hourly and daily quantities will be increased on the Severn Trent Water licence now by 1,200 cubic metres per hour and 28,000 cubic metres per day, but also will remain on the donor licence until the donor licence expires on 31 December 2024.

Further details are: the aggregate conditions with licence numbers 03/28/44/0006 and 03/28/46/0007 will also increase by 6,480,000 cubic metres per year and 28,000 cubic metres per day now and then a further increase of 720,000 cubic metres per year on 01 January 2025.
