Details of the application

Severn Trent Services Defence Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 8 of The Water Abstraction (Transitional Provisions) Regulations 2017.

The Environment Agency has received the following abstraction licence application within the Eden and Esk catchment.

The application is for a full licence to abstract water as follows:

  • at an instantaneous rate of 24.8 litres per second
  • 89 cubic metres an hour
  • 2,123 cubic metres a day
  • 39,699 cubic metres a year
  • between 1 April and 31 March inclusive in each year.
  • at National Grid Reference (NGR) NY 62 73
  • from abstraction location Groundwater.

The water will be used for Potable Water Supply - Direct.
