Enter learning data: using the service

Enter learning data (ELD) is replacing the learner entry tool (LET). The web-based service is for further education providers who need to return ILR information but do not have a data management system.

You can access enter learning data for free. Using it is optional.

It’s been designed to offer an improved user experience, with benefits that include: 

  • reduced duplication when entering learners’ data 

  • real-time validation to improve data quality 

  • guided user journeys 

  • improved self-service, with links to guidance 

  • access by multiple users from the same organisation

  • links to other Department for Education (DfE) services 

  • storage of data in the DfE environment 

If you’re having problems with the service, check the known-issues log to see if DfE is experiencing any issues and what it’s doing to solve them.
